End of the Passage

Everything has to have an end - it can't be open-ended.  Even if that "end" is simply a chance to stop, repair the things that have been stressed during the ride to date, it's important to take that time and make repairs.

You can work your arse off, push yourself to your limits, but at some point you have to let up on the gas pedal and recharge, allowing the equipment, your body, and your mind and soul to recover from the strain and rigors.  This sets you up to be your best for the next challenge, the next time you stomp down on the throttle or hoist the sails and crash into whatever it is that life is about to throw at you.
