Sometimes it feels like I'm in a race just to begin to get ready for the race. The first step was setting up this website. I know, it seems like there are other things to do that are more important, but this website will be the focus of my efforts, keeping track of to-do items, project management, etc., so it was important to get it up and running. Not everything on the site is visible to visitors, so there's a lot more behind the scenes.
I've been making lists of things to do. Although acquiring more and better sailing skills is important, there are some skills that I need to get a hold off even before that and they have nothing to do with sailing. If this is going to work, I'm going to have to learn how to market, how to publicize, and how to promote this effort. These are things that run contrary to my more normal taciturn nature and actually make me quite uncomfortable. So, the discomfort starts already!
I put off this morning's workout because I have a physiotherapy appointment today and I'll do the workout under the eye of my taskmast.. I mean therapist.
However, this morning was still productive as I was looking into various ideas to raise money. Some of it was looking at grants, sure, but I'm also looking into where I can work to raise the money. Plus there's the other, day-to-day stuff I need to do, including managing the website for an organization on a volunteer basis, programming work that I've committed to, writing this article.
Ok, time to go put some stuff away and start packing the things I'll need for the trip at the end of this month. Plus, if the sun decides to come out, practice my celestial navigation.
